About this scholarship
ANU Chancellor's International Scholarship: 25% or 50% tuition fee reductions for the full duration of the degree for commencing international undergraduate and postgraduate students, across nine citizenship categories with automatic assessment on admission and approximately 200 awards per year.
Minimum requirements
Commencing international (overseas) student as defined under the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000; must not hold a 995 visa unless enrolling in an eligible postgraduate programme; must have received an offer of admission to an eligible programme; must not hold an external sponsorship covering all or part of tuition fees. Eligible levels: undergraduate, flexible double degrees, master's by coursework and graduate certificates. Excluded programmes: Doctor of Medicine and Surgery (MChD) and Master of Military and Defence Studies. No separate scholarship application: all eligible international students applying for admission are automatically considered, and assessed first for the highest-value award. Nine categories by citizenship, at least one applicable anywhere in the world; approximately 200 scholarships per year. Recipients pay a reduced tuition deposit of AUD $10,000 and are guaranteed first-year accommodation if they take up that benefit.
Application checklist
- Apply for admission to an eligible ANU undergraduate or postgraduate programme (no separate scholarship application exists)
- Confirm the programme is eligible (excludes Doctor of Medicine and Surgery (MChD) and Master of Military and Defence Studies)
- Confirm overseas-student status under the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 and no disqualifying 995 visa (unless an eligible postgraduate programme)
- Confirm no external sponsorship covers any part of tuition fees
- Accept the academic offer and the scholarship offer as two separate processes
Application tips
- There is no scholarship form — your admission application is the assessment, and you are always assessed first for the highest-value award you qualify for.
- Check your category: Undergraduate, Postgraduate, India, Indonesia and Vietnam are 25%; South East Asia and Europe, Central & South Americas are 25% or 50%.
- Do not defer: international students are not permitted to defer either the academic or the scholarship offer.
- If you hold an external sponsorship covering tuition, you are ineligible even with a strong academic record.
Always verify deadline, amount and eligibility on the official page before applying. Values marked ESTIMATE are based on a previous cycle and are not confirmed for the current round.
